Due to a consistent high standard of 10 man raiding performance Ebon Phoenix is branching out into Heroic Mode focus and beginning a project that will hopefully end in the demise of one of the most feared WotLK bosses to date! Algalon the Observer will be attempted over the coming months and for more information on this project Lunesca asks that all interested parties visit this thread to discuss.

Also coming up is a trip to Trial of the Grand Crusader which has been highly anticipated by many of our members, good luck in there to all whom are signed! Let’s have a few of those modes down before the patch.

In recent news Lunesca led Ebon Phoenix into TOTC25 for their first solo guild run. Despite only having 23 players (and only 5 healers!) the group managed to down the Northrend Beasts and Jaraxxuss before moving onto Onyxia for a quick cuddle before bed! Well done to all involved, and a special thank you to those who joined on short notice to help out – we couldn’t have done it without you!

Last but by no means least, Ebon Phoenix have become home to a large number of new members, all of whom have settled into EP like it’s been home for years. The officers would like to thank all our new recruits for really adding to the wonderful atmosphere of the guild and hope to spend many years playing by their sides!

Leylarna is currently organizing a list of people for our guild Secret Santa this Winter Veil.

The deadline will be around the 1st of December to allow enough time for people to organize their presents.

Please visit the forum thread or send Leylarna a whisper if you’d like to get involved!

Last Friday Ebon Phoenix cleared Trial of the Crusader once again, along with a warm up run against Onyxia. Due to the success we’ve experienced, clearing it pretty routinely each week, the 10 man Trial of the Crusader is to become Middleground raid content. This means that well gear alts are permitted to join. The first Trial of the Grand Crusader is also incoming on Sunday.

For some reason when we triggered the Lich King during the Trial of the Crusader, the corpse of one of the Twin Valkyr followed us down to Anub’Arak. Strato then took this an an opportunity to sexually abuse her dead body. We congratulate their new relationship and await the pitter-patter of tiny undead, druidic feet…

Since the christmas month is approaching, Leylarna is going to be spear-heading a Secret Santa scheme. This basically means, rather than getting everyone a small gift in in Wow, every focuses on getting one larger present, with Leylarna matching up people to ensure everyone gets one. Feel free to head to Leylarna’s thread on the forum to discuss!

And on the Saturday, the planned 25 man Ulduar had to revert to a fresh run of Ulduar 10, which served as a great opportunity to distribute some equipment. We managed to finish off Hodir before people got sleepy. During that raid, Girr managed to win a a cloth hat item with a roll of 1, well done there. And just before we reached Hodir, Lunesca could not contain her curiosity and encouraged us to clear the passageway to the south side of Hodir, where we had not cleared before. As a reward for our curiosity, we found a simple, bland and inanimate door. The following video is a tribute to that door’s sheer lack entertainment value:

Things in Ebon Phoenix have been ticking along nicely these last few weeks. In the hopes of bringing the Ashes of A’lar to the guild, a couple of Tempest Keep runs have been fielded. With more expected if people find themselves bored.

Raiding wise, weekly Trial of the Crusader and Onyxia runs continue to bring a steady stream of Triumph Badges into the guild’s hands. And since the Trial of the Crusader is being cleared with relative ease on a weekly basis, the guild may soon try their hand at Trial of the Grand Crusader.

In other news, Solidus has decided to spend most of Hallow’s End dancing in Dalaran, creating one of the most disturbing mental images ever seen.

Also, remember that whatever activity you could have failed at in Wow this week. It couldn’t possibly be as bad as this man here:

At approximately 12:30 server time, on the 8th of October 2009, Ebon Phoenix killed Yogg-Saron! In an outstanding display of skill and perseverance, the 10 man raid group mastered phase 1, solved difficulties experienced with controlling the adds in Phase 2, to them storm through phase 3 with relative ease.

Last weekend was also excellent for general end game shenanigans! On the Friday evening, a team led by Lunesca and Kiaya fought and downed
Onyxia in 10 man mode on the first attempt. And then afterwards took a victory lap of Trial of the Crusader, which included the first guild kill of Anub’arak. Well done indeed!
